Frequently Asked Questions

Transportation

Ubers and Lyfts will bring you out to Saudé Creek, however it is rare for them to also pick you up at our location. Please make sure you have advanced arrangements for getting home safely if you are being dropped off at the Vineyard!

We lock our winery gates at the end of business hours. If you leave your vehicle on our property, you will not be able to receive it until the gates are open the following day.

Are you handicap accessible?

We are wheelchair accessible in our tasting room & outside deck and porch. Handicapped parking is on the right side of the winery right next to the wheelchair ramp.

Are dogs/pets allowed?

Dogs are more than welcome in our designated pet areas located around the winery grounds. Please remember to keep your pet leashed and supervised at all times. Many of the pet areas are shared with families so always clean up after your pet if necessary. No pets, except official service animals, are allowed inside the winery or on the upper deck and porch.

Does your winery allow children?

Families are welcome at our winery.  While children may visit with their parents, for the enjoyment of all our guests, we respectfully ask that you keep them with you at all times.

With so many guests visiting our winery, please have smaller children in a stroller or at your side, and do not allow them to sit on the tasting bar. Any guests under the age of 21 cannot drink alcohol, even with a parent’s consent.

Are there any hotels near your winery?

While New Kent County does not have any hotels, there are some local Bed & Breakfasts nearby. Williamsburg and Richmond are a short 30-minute drive from our winery and have numerous hotels and attractions.

Tastings & Groups

Do you offer group tastings?

While we do offer Wine Tastings at the Main Bar, we do not provide private or reserved tastings.

Are large group parties allowed?

Our business policy requires parties of 15 or more to purchase a rental area to gather privately and safely. Otherwise, groups of 15 or more can only be accommodated at our Hillside picnic area, so feel free to bring your own blankets and chairs if this is the case!

If you’re interested in learning more about purchasing a rental space for your private gathering, please click here.

Do you offer cellar tours?

We do not offer cellar tours at this time. We do open the cellar on special occasions and during some events, so keep an eye on our events calendar so you won’t miss your chance.

Food

Food Policy

Picnics and outside food are welcome, although outside alcohol is not permitted on the property.
We are currently selling pre-packaged Boar’s Head small bites and snack items at the Winery, and we do have a Food Truck that joins us every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as well.

While picnics are permitted, large rolling coolers and foldout tables are not allowed to be brought onto the property. Our provided table seating cannot be used as a buffet table for food display and/or setup only. All picnic foods brought in must be enjoyed at the tables that customers are sitting at.

Do you allow outside beverages?

No outside alcohol is permitted on our property, opened or unopened. Doing so is a direct violation of Virginia ABC regulations. We do have bottled water and soda available here at SCV for purchase. Currently, we do allow our guests to bring in non-alcoholic beverages and reserve the right to inspect all coolers brought onto the property. If any outside alcohol is found it will be removed and you may be asked to leave the premises.
